Route 411 double deckers replaced
 

The 411 Kingston-West Molesey route is now single-decker only. Quite
what the idiot who came up with the idea was thinking is beyond me, but
clearly they have never travelled the route at peak times. It now means
you have no guarentee of getting on the bus outside John Lewis if
travelling from Kingston on a Saturday afternoon for instance. There
were at least ten prospective passengers turned away at 4.30 on
Saturday afternoon, where before they would have all been able to get
on a double decker. Not much fun if you have a pile of shopping and
kids in tow. The bus driver was very apologetic and I got the
impression the drivers are as annoyed as the passengers. You also have
to put up with revolting little chavs and their skanky girlfriends
spitting and using the seats and handrails as climbing frames when
previously they would have banished to the rumpus room upstairs to
carry out their random acts of violence without bothering other
passengers.
I can appreciate using single decks buses in the evenings for instance,
but on a Saturday afternoon in the run up to Chrsitmas is plain stupid
and will only put more people into their cars on the already congested
roads to one of the area's main shopping centres.
