Hayes & Harlington Station - metric v.v. imperial measurements?

Has anyone else noticed that the new awning extension on platforms 2/3
at Hayes doesn't exactly fit the profile of that over the pre-existing
waiting room? It protrudes by at least 3 inches. Could it be that the
awning was designed using metric instead of imperial measurements?

Also the new footbridge is brilliant in its design - the covered stairs
on platforms 2/3 will be directly in the path of the overhead wiring
supports necessitiating that the latter are moved!! This will require
the complete cessation of all electric train services through the
station. Also there are no disabled facilities provided on the new
bridge.

Yet another FGWL/Railtrack cock-up? Happy new year.

CJB.
