The Best Ticket to Get to Tower Hill

I currently have an annual season ticket from Bedford to Kings Cross
Thameslink. I'm starting a new job soon that is based at St
Katherine's Dock, which means I need to get to Tower Hill each day.

I'm not sure which is my cheapest way to get to Tower Hill.

I was thinking about upgrading the season ticket to Blackfriars, or
City Thameslink and walking from there. Or maybe adding the travelcard
to the season, though I'm not sure whether I have to buy a Z1-6 or
whether I can buy just a Z1-2.

I'm wondering the difference in prices for Thameslink annual season
tickets from Bedford to Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars.
And, also how Thameslink upgrade a ticket. If I added a travelcard, or
wanted to extend the season ticket I have to Blackfriars, how do they
work out the cost? Do they add the extra costs on to season, charge me
the extra and give me a new ticket? Or, do they work out the new cost
of the newly priced ticket based on current price of the ticket and
charge me that?

Can anyone help?

Ian

I'd go to City Thameslink and either walk or get one of the last two buses
left in London to the Tower

Is any of the few through trains to London Bridge (eg arr 0740, 0820,
0905) at a suitable time for you? That's a lot nearer to St
Katherine's.

Not sure the fares, but I think it's generally best to maximise the
Travelcard bit, ie 1 - 6. NR Enquiries a better bet than here.

You can get a ticket with a Travelcard, or get a season to the zone 1/2
boundary and an Oyster Travelcard for Z1-2. You can then combine these
tickets, which should be cheaper than a ticket 'all the way'.

Slightly more expensive, but still cheaper than a season all the way,
is to get a ticket to boundary zone 6 (Elstree & Borehamwood) and
combine with a Z1-6 Travelcard, which will give you free transport
throughout London as and when you like.

All of this is based on Wagn pricing, rather than Thameslink but I'd
expect the savings to be similar.
