Bus announcements

Yesterday experienced the new spoken stop announcements on a 149
bendybus, noticed that there was a visual display also. Certainly did
not find the announcements in any way intrusive.

When the 101's first had Scania SLW's delivered in the eighties they
also had the announcements and displays but after a while these stopped,
does anyone remember when? Well after their demise [so much later I
made a note of the date, 06 Jan 2003] a 101 was using the system,
although two stops out of sync. Was this type of error the reason for
their disuse in the first place?

Bus announcements

How regular are the announcements? Are they every stop, or just the key
ones (London Bridge, Monument, Liverpool Street, Shoreditch Church
etc)?
