'Huge Amounts of Work at Hainault'
Christian Wolmar has an article in The Standard today critical of the PPP's
and the proposed line closures. One paragraph caught my attention: 'Already they' (the PPP's) 'have been up to all sorts of tricks, such as carrying out huge amounts of work on the least-used parts of the network, such as the Hainault Loop at the eastern end of the Central Line, where it is easier to work than in the centre'. What exactly have Metronet been finding to do on the Hainault Loop that deserves the description 'huge amounts of work' - upgrading to 125mph running perhaps??? |

I've got visions of the trains running round and round the loop, building up speed as they go, as if in some sort of atom-smasher ... tom -- FREQUENT VIOLENT BLOODY |
