Games travel plans an 'uphill task'
Concerns about transport plans for the 2012 Olympics:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uklatest/s...690078,00.html In particular: "The discrepancy between London Mayor Ken Livingstone's prediction that 25,000 passengers an hour will use the fast "Javelin" King's Cross to Stratford trains and train companies' figure of 12,000 to 14,000 needed to be resolved quickly. There could be dangerous platform overcrowding at Stratford international station and the actual Javelin train journey of seven minutes might be longer." and: "Tube operators must guarantee that improved signalling on the Jubilee and Northern lines will be fully operational in time for the Olympics." |
