Default Northern Line for Hampstead Parking Advice?

Tomorrow afternoon I need to be in Hampstead, driving down from
Birmingham.

I've not used the outer ends of the Northern Line to park before
(Piccadilly, Metropolitan, Central are my usual options as I'm normally
heading for Central London).

Does anyone have any parking advice for places at the northern end of
the Northern's Edgware Branch, reasonably accessible from the M1?

Personally, I would avoid parking at BX shopping centre as that is quite
some walk to the station. The streets around the stn I am not sure about
but maybe subject to some restrictions during the day.

If it was me I would come off at Jct 4 and make my way to Edgware stn (VIA
THE A5) where there is a commuter park and also the "Broadwalk" shoppers car
park and I dont think the rates are too extorionate but it will depend on
how much time u need.

Also the shoppers carpark has an very short alleyway which leads to Herring
Road and Fairfield Crescent which only has restrictions from 10am to 11am
(please double check - just in case its changed in the last few weeks) .
When parking in either of these roads u should see the school gates and the
alley is to the right of the gates, simply walk along to the end (about 10
secs) and turn left. U will now see the shopping centre car park, simply
walk along towards the centre and then go to the right of the building and
follow it all the way around. When u get to the cnr u will see the bus
station and the tube stn is right next to it. All in all the walk from
Herring Rd should take no more than about 2 mins.

http://tinyurl.com/g652t is the multimap location and even shows the
alleyway in a broken line. Where the blue "P" sign is marks where the gate
into the car park is.

Perhaps Mr Jelf should try the walk from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to
Brent Cross Station, just so that he NEVER recommends it to anyone else
;-)

Most of Littlefield Road, a walk from Burnt Oak station, has no parking
restrictions and tends to have one or two free car spaces along the way.
Don't all go at once though, please! Or my mate will kill me :-))))

Whereabouts? Is West Hampstead station any use? That would give you many
more options. Not that i can offer any detailed ones!
