Well, you can get it to send you a reminder notice, you know.


well thats not really the point (well for me anyway). suppose you dont know
when youll need your card to begin? suppose you dont know which station
youll be travelling from (so that the oyster doesnt get reloaded)? suppose
you dont get your card reloaded till the day you use it (and so cant use a
bus to get to the station)?

tbh i was expecting to be able to renew my card on the morning id need it to
start, and then use a bus using the new TC as normal. frankly its the more
hassle and inflexible to renew the oyster than it is to get a paper TC.
