Parking in central London is very, very expensive, and there's also a
congestion charge for driving into the centre of the city during
business hours on a weekday. Forget the car, get a travelcard.

Why do people have to spit? That ruined "Titanic" for
me, the spitting. The iceberg couldn't come soon enough
once I saw that.

Stick with Oyster. Assuming you stay in zones 1-2 you won't pay more
than £5.70 or £4.40 a day (depending if your first journey starts
before 9.30 or after. Renting a car, parking, congestion fee
(currently £8 a day by itself) makes driving a very expensive option
for you, and thats before you consider that driving in London is about
the least fun you can have in a day.

Use public transport. Driving in London is expensive, inconvenient,
slow and frustrating - only something to do if you absolutely have to.

The cheapest ticket will depend on what travel you want to do and how
long you're staying - post more and I expect people can advise. If
you're travelling mainly off-peak, a Pay As You Go Oyster will probably
be best. If you're travelling multiple times daily or in the peak over
a week or more, a Period Travelcard may be better value.

You haven't really said where you will be staying, how long or where you
wish to travel to and whether it is just you or you and several other
people who will be travelling with you. Sorry to seem a little nosey
about your plans but a little more info might help people provide a more
tailored answer to your question.

Public transport generally works fine in London but it can be very
crowded at the busiest times and some journeys can be awkward if you are
not very familiar with the various bus, train and tube networks.
