Green Park station, changing from Victoria to Piccadilly

When walking down to the Piccadilly platforms from the Victoria ones, before
the last flight of steps down to platform level, the corridor continues
behind a grated metal door. Does anyone know what used to be down there?

cheers!

Dragons!

Or, more accurately, the lift shaft from when Green Park was just a
little Piccadilly station, before the rebuild as a major interchange.

Spunds like the original way in to (and indeed out of) the station from when
it was Dover St.

It was rebuilt long before then. Dover Street got escalators in the 1930s
and became Green Park. The Victoria didn't arrive till over 30 years
later.
