There is currently no tube station in the entire London Borough of
Hackney.

Depends on your definition of nearby really...7 tube stations (Tottenham
Hale, Seven Sisters, Turnpike Lane, Wood Green, Bounds Green, Arnos
Grove and Southgate) within 20 minutes or so by bus is hardly out of the
way.

And in the case of Seven Sisters, that's all of 6 minutes from Silver
Street and 8 minutes from Edmonton Green by train.
