Interesting bit in Modern Railways regarding (probable) implementation
of 'Thameslink', with a halfway house to enable 12 car 16tph service.
GN connection, major London Bridge changes to follow, after Olympics.

How will they manage 16tph without the changes at London Bridge?

Few FCC services currently call at London Bridge during the peak hour -
when the works at Farringdon and Blackfriars are combined with Borough
Viaduct in Phase 1 (and I think the doubling of the single line between
Blackfriars and LB), 16tph may become possible.
