I think that would actually make an excellent logo, but i can't see TfL
going for it.

Yeah, let's spend another £400k (or probably more) designing a new
logo that might possibly look slightly better (but probably won't).
Great plan.

Indeed. My immediate reaction was "Bloody hell, I *like* that. Simple,
elegant, and very obviously London"

Similar applies to number 6, too, but probably less globally recognisable
than 10.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if this is a bluff, so they can go
"OK, well, we're sorry - but we listen to you, our wonderful public, and
we've canned it because you didn't like it"

We could join five differently coloured TfL roundels in an Olympic
fashion, and put 2012 in the horizontal band of the bottom right
roundel...

Does the £400k mean the design cost or all of the other work getting
it branded onto stationery and other printing costs?

£400k is probably what some of the 'Emperor's New Clothes' would cost as
well, with inflation.

Not printing costs, but it would include the graphic design of
basically everything Olympics related, of which the logo is only
really a small part.
