The diagrams are detailed enough, and there's no sign of it: http://billdocuments.crossrail.co.uk...ter_09_pt4.pdf Although, inspired by Beekant on the Brussels metro, where the junction also faces the wrong way and trains reverse in service, there's always reversing at H&H, which I think the Crossrail infrastructure will make slightly easier, if not eminently viable for one or two trains an hour. So the biggest barrier will be electrification. U -- http://londonconnections.blogspot.com/ A blog about transport projects in London |

It suggests that the line through Osse has left-hand running but the lines through Etan and West have right hand running. There also seems to be no way of running trains between West and Osse without ending up on the wrong track (I know they don't normally run that way, but it's surprising the track layout would force them onto the wrong track). |

Yes, I've been on the line that reverses and switches sides, and was quite surprised. As far as I can tell the line from the east (from the city centre) was built to interchange with the existing north-south heavy rail route, which was later incorporated into the Metro, and this was the easiest way to do it. They're changing the service pattern in 2009 to remove the reversal and the left-hand running on the north branch.
