Things in the four foot

Can anyone tell me what the yellow "Signalling asset" sat between the
rails at Green Park southbound Victoria Line is? I've not noticed one
before, but it is rather yellow and obvious. Something for the new
signalling?

Also, two flashing yellow lights between the rails at the end of a
Piccadilly Line platform at Leicester Square. I've not noticed them
before either, what do they do?

It is perfectly possible that both things have been around for ever, and
I've just not noticed them...

They alert drivers to the start or end of a temporary speed restriction.
There should be a speed limit number (in mph) or a T (for termination)
just beyond the lights in the four foot.

No idea.

They are warnings of either a TSR (Temporary Speed Restriction) or the
termination of one. They do have a habit of appearing and disappearing
so you have to be quick! There will be a blue board in the four foot
just after them with either a number on (the TSR in MPH) or TT (TSR
Termination).

The Leicester Square TSR must have gone in in the past few days as it
certainly wasn't there on my last duty last Thursday.

It is perfectly possible that both things have been around for ever,
and I've just not noticed them...

Given the tortoise like speed the piccadilly line seems to crawl
around at these days perhaps it would make more sense just to put down
some flashing lights to tell the drivers when they can do more than
20mph and a councelling hotline number if any get scared going as high
as 25 or even , god forbid, 30! Though I suppose they'll have the
obligatory 5 minute wait between Bounds Green and Arnos, or the
regulate-the-service delay at Finsbury or the terminate-early-and-sod-
the-passengers at Wood Green to recover. Not that I care , I recently
finally voted with my wallet and gave up using the tube as I just
couldn't put up with it taking an hour to go 7 miles any longer. FCC +
Bus can do the same journey in just over half the time.

Sorry folks - this isn't one of them. (TSR boards aren't signalling
assets anyway - they're ERU assets.)

The boxes now appearing on the Victoria Line are, I believe, APR
transponders for the new signalling system.
Quite how Westinghouse were allowed to put them in that sort of
position obstructing the suicide pit I do not know, as it isn't
normally permissible to do such things!

I haven't bought the standard for about 10 years , same goes for the
daily mail.

Btw , the caps lock key is the one in the middle on the left. Train
your guide dog a bit better before posting again.

The (separate, on a different line) yellow thing said "Signalling asset"
on it in large friendly letters. And a warning not to stand on it, which
strikes me as a tad superfluous given where it is!
