To report spam use the "more options" link at the top right of each message, then select "report this message" from the options, and fill in the form. I'm cross posting this to some of the other newsgroups who seem to have been affected by one of the spammers the newsgroup I read is affected by. Ths is _not_ a Google Group, Google just provide an interface to it. There is no point reporting spam unless it was posted by a Google Groups user, in which case the poster is in breach of Google T&Cs and could be warned, suspended, or terminated - but a spammer would consider the account expendable anyway. Google is not in a position to remove messages from a group it has no control over, and any attempt to hide messages from those viewing the group through Google Groups would be seen as censorship. The messages that are concerning the OP are not being posted through Google, they're coming (or appear to be coming) via Demon, so the appropriate place to complain would be . FWIW, the "show original" tab in Google Groups will usually show how and where the message has originated. Another option of course is to use a different news feed altogether. I no longer see these tedious "MI5" messages because my ISP just drops them. Or censors them, if you like. -- Joyce Whitchurch, Stalybridge, UK ================================= |

Whoever you are, I swear I will kill you , you attention seeking faggot. I would ****ing kick your head in, **** Why don't you just **** offfff. Or why won't Google groups block him Hey buddy, if MI5 find you I hope they rape you and give you AIDS. The poster is a usenet legend by name of Mike Corley. He is part of usenet history and has more right to post then a cretin such as yourself Chris Holland. To anyone else interested: Mike lives in Clapham, South London, he first began his postings to usenet, BBS, and online forums back in 1996, which is long before the obnoxious Chris Holland learned of the internet let alone began his own trolling. But Mikes paranoia of alleged MI5 persecution can be traced back as far 1990, when newspaper editors, TV newsdesks, magazine reviewers et al, first received Mike's reports of his harassment by MI5 operatives. Mike has his own website: http://www.five.org.uk/ There have been numerous newspaper articles and online thesis about Mike's postings, this is a BBC article on the subject: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A164404 And amongst many other covers of the Mike Corley phenomenon there has been a play about this usenet legend: http://www.thecorleyconspiracy.com/ |
