Do you need a Zone 1-2 travelcard if you travel on the tube through
zone 1, but never leave the train. E.G. Highbury and Islington to Camden Town (victoria through kings cross to euston, northern to Camden Town), or Hammersmith to East Acton via Earls Court, high street kensington, notting hill gate? |

If you can find a route that doesn't involve zone 1/2 then you can travel the above and then if you get any trouble then just claim you took the other route. I of course have NEVER done this. And DONT encourage it. Im just stating that its possible. -- CJG |

As others have said, you'll need a Travelcard to cover all zones you pass through by Tube. However, you could still use a Zone 2 only Travelcard on the buses in Zone 1 and in all the other zones too. If you are trying to keep your travel costs down, then bus only passes represent the best deal. -- Phil Richards London, N4 |

You SHOULD have a travelcard 1 + 2 for the Camden journey via Zone 1. I don't think there are any interchange barriers at Euston, so I'm not sure if you actually NEED one. The barriers you would be using are zone 2 only. |

AFAIAA, there are no interchange barriers at Euston - however, if the travelling ticket inspectors are on (rare I know, but not unknown) you'd be charged a Penalty Fare if caught in Zone 1 without validity. Were this not the case, you'd be able to travel from one end of a line to the other on a single-zone ticket or ODTC... Neil -- Neil Williams is a valid email address, but is sent to /dev/null.
