Are they really going to keep annoucing the East London Line is closed until
2010 that could get very annoying. Its bad enough having to listen to the
"avoid changing at Bank" annoucement.

Especially since it won't be part of the Underground then anyway. I
expect they'll continue until the people who write the leaflets about
weekend closures have cottoned on.

I think if, after the escalator work is done, these should be kept but
altered

particular reason, it's just a bad idea generally. Don't do it,

But I guess tourists and visitors may need reminding.

Well if you're changing between the Northern Line (Bank) and the
Circle/District (Monument) there are absolutely no problems in either
directions. Did it a few hours ago. It's not even very far.

They need to keep announcing it until their colleagues designing the weekend

"Please avoid changing trains at Bank/Monument station. It's hard
enough for us to keep track of them, without you lot moving them
about."
