Elephant and Castle / Walworth Road - what happened?

Going around the Southern stretch of the ring road today, and all was fine
until the roundabout with the Walworth Road, where police were stood there
controlling the traffic, and there was a sign going onto Newington Butts
that said "Road ahead closed: follow diversion" or similar. What exact road
was closed? The A3, or Kennington Lane? I presume there was a serious
accident/attack or something - anyone know?


Burst water main at Kennington Park Road coupled with return to school
for many (but not all) schools.
