Lets see, started off on the wrong gauge. *Designed a standard range of
locos and then never really developed them, persisted with slip coaches long
after everyone else had given them up. Never embraced electrification in any
shape or form.

Hows that for starters?

Did the GW not own an interest in the Hammersmith and City Electric
Stock at one time?

I knew someone was going to bring that up! But they were hardly the driving
force in the partnership.
