London Banter - How do you get TfL journey planner to work for cycles

Not sure I can help with the journey planner per se but you haven't
really specified where in South London you're referring to.

If she can get to a London Terminal station by train then she should
head for the nearest sub surface tube service and catch the Circle Line.

Also, if she can get to Wimbledon or Richmond she can take the
District line from there to, say, Edgware Road (off-peak only, see
link below for details).

Monument for London Bridge.
Embankment for Charing Cross / Waterloo (she'd need to cycle across from
W'loo)
Victoria for Victoria!

Edgware Road and Baker Street are the closest sub surface stations to
Marylebone and are a short distance away.

For Edgware Road there is the option of a direct train from *West
Brompton, getting off trains from Clapham Junction (Overground /
Southern) or beyond (Southern only), or Wimbledon (for SWT services).

Another option to consider is catching Thameslink from South London to
Farringdon and then changing to a Met / Circle or H&C from there to
Baker St (all lines) or Edgware Rd (not Met trains to there!).

I think LU still charge child fare for the carriage of cycles but it's
worth checking. It's many years since I did that!
