At which point, most of us waiting to get on absolutely lost it! If any
of you people who work for LU know who this announcer was, do tell him
he totally made my journey.

It's amazing the difference a bit of humour can make to your journey!

There's a driver on the East London line that gives the best announcements
I've ever heard on the Underground. He's got a very deep Carribean accent,
and greets people to the train at New Cross Gate with "Good
morning/afternoon/evening Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your northbound East
London Line service to Shoreditch. The next stop will be Surrey Quays.
Passengers for the Jubilee line should change at Canada Water, passengers
for the District line should change at Whitechapel. This train will soon be
departing, so sit back, relax, cheer up and enjoy the ride, because it's a
beautiful day. And please, keep your feet off the seats, yes folks, please,
keep your feet off the seats. This train's now departing, please mind the
doors."

On the approach to a station [at a weekend] you get "Folks, this is Canada
Water. Canada Water folks. Change for the Jubilee line to central London. If
you're leaving the train here then whatever you do, wherever you go and
whatever the weather, have a great weekend. Canada Water folks."

Of course while he's saying all this there is classical music playing in the
background!

DJ.

I hope it's not Beethoven's 9th, or people will start calling the East
London Line the Clockwork Orange.

A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood.
That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

Recent announcement from attendant on a US Southwest flight, upon
arrival at terminal :

"If you're changing here to a connecting Southwest flight, the agent
at the gate will be happy to help you. If you're changing to another
airline - we don't care."

Oh - they shouldn't call it that.

That is what the Glasgow Underground (or Glasgow Subway, as I believe it is
now officially known as) is nicknamed!
