That'll work well underground.
There's a major national research & development project in progress
whose aims are to do exactly that - to bring the benefits of GPS to
tunnels.
Not sure if thats tongue in cheek or not as this sort of system was invented
years ago - all you need is trackside beacons that tell the train exactly
where it is.
Mind you, look at what happened to the idea of bringing mobile phone
reception to the Underground ...
Hopefully will never happen. Watching clueless girles lose their signal and
spend the next 30 seconds going "hello , hello, you there init?" once the
train goes into the tunnel is one of lives little amusements.
