I don't know whether this relates to the above situation, but recently
travelling on a ODTC I arrived (via LUL) at Barking and went out in search
of food. Some hour or so later (including a 2 stop bus journey) I
re-entered Barking station but the gates refused me access (station staff
let me in). The next barrier encountered IIRC was at Tower Hill which let
me in
