Default Putney Green

Evening all,

I don't know if anyone else here reads the (generally ****-poor) 'London
by London' e-newsletter thing; if they do, they may have noticed the
following query from a reader:

On the district line platform map at Mile End station they have invented
a new stop. On their map between Putney Bridge and East Putney they show
a 'Putney Green'. Is this LU being stupid, or is it just a really old
map still showing a now defunct station? I keep peering out of the
window on the way through, but can see no evidence of a disused station.
I think it's just them being stupid...

It's not there now, and Clive doesn't mention any such station having
closed, so i'm inclined to think it's a mistake. Anyone know different?

A bit of a google does turn up some references to a Putney Green, but it
usually seems to be a thinko for Parsons Green or East Putney.
