Paddington signs
Now that the extended Circle Line has bedded in, have signs at
Paddington main line station changed? In particular, is it made clear to passengers that those wanting King's Cross or Liverpool Street should go to platforms 15 & 16 while those wanting Victoria should head for the Lawn entrance? -- Clive D.W. If you are elderly or have heavy luggage you will have to go up and down the stairs. If you go to the lawn entrance and take the circle line terminating at Edgware Road then you will have a cross platform change. |

That's true, if you can identify that the Edgware Road train arriving at Paddington is a Circle and not a District. Do both the platform indicators and the front of the train tell you that it's a Circle line train? -- Richard J. (to email me, swap 'uk' and 'yon' in address) |

District line just have Edgware Road on the front of the train and Platform describer has District Line to Edgware Road. |

How many days has the service actually been attempted since it was introduced, what with snow, signals, scaffolding and other problems? |

Can anyone confirm that this can really be relied upon? A dangerous assumption, I'd have thought. A reversing Circle line, like a reversing Wimbleware, could use either of the centre platforms to reverse, one of which requires use of one of the footbridges. They can use either, but since the change are definitely timetabled to use the defined platforms, and the platform signage at Edgware Rd was changed to reflect this. Presumably when they can't be platformed correctly (during service perturbations) it is considered better to enter the station than sit in the tunnel. Paul S |

Platform 2 is dedicated to the Circle reversers and platform 3 to the Wimbleware reversers, and there are permanent signs on the platforms that say so. Has anyone actually seen a Circle line train reverse in platform 3 since the T-cup was introduced? -- Richard J. (to email me, swap 'uk' and 'yon' in address) |

Which is fine, as long as only one of each arrives at any time (as timetabled). If there are delays and two Wimblewares or two Circles are close behind each other then the timetabled platforming goes out of the window. |
