If you don't mind looking silly and pedalling backwards, you can use
them as exercise bikes without joining or paying!

Can you lift the locked bikes up enough to get some rollers under the
wheels? How about a sheet of teflon greaseproof paper? There could be some
mileage in this, you know. Or lack of mileage, rather.
