Default Transport policy in the 1960s

As I said, it was somewhat OT, but it does show the prevailing
attitude at this time towards road building i.e. build as many as

(Victoria line excepted), how few major rail infrastructure projects
took place at this time. I do thing, for all that is wrong with our
current system, we live in much more enlightened times with regard to
the future of our railways and project transport infrastructure in
general (although local rural buses sadly are not included in this).

The 1960s, age of concrete communism. We had families pushed in tower
blocks and soul less ofice blocks linked by lethal roads.

OTOH, The countryside is one area that the private car can come into
its own.
