Problems with the conductor rail between Wandsworth Common and
Clapham Junction have caused damage to a number of trains.
Engineers are working to move the trains. Once they have moved
repairs will be made to the damaged conductor rail and this may
take up to 3 hours.

Ah that's the issue. Looks to me like a train or something has damaged
the conductor rail and as it's been knocked out of guage it will then
have damaged the current collection shoes on subsequent trains. They'd
then stop and lose power and it also explains why trains have been
evacuated rather than moved under their own power.

I did wonder why a power problem had escalated into such a big
incident but when similar things have happened on the tube you end up
an almighty mess to deal with.

Thanks guys. I can make sense of that. Rather more limited in scope than the
Clapham Junction hashtag then. Not good that still not cleared after 6 hours
either.
