I can see the point really. In fact I raised a query earlier about the
Shepperton branch case. It will share more trains with non-Crossrail 2
services than other branches because the faster route to London is not via
Wimbledon.

Yes, although the current trains via Twickenham are timetabled with such
humungous delays at Twickenham that every one of them gets overtaken by
a train from Shepperton to Waterloo via Wimbledon. The fastest trains
*from* London are via Twickenham, every one of which overtakes a train
via Wimbledon.
