"Walking can be a quick and easy way to get around, particularly when
travelling during the busiest times, which are 08:00-09:00 and 17:30-18:30
Monday to Friday. The table below shows some popular journeys within zones
1 and 2 that are quicker to walk."

A fascinating collection. Interesting that the Piccadilly alternatives to
Covent Garden don't get a mention.

I think they only include journeys that involve a change.

Yes, this map shows the walking equivalents of all central London single
line hops; no doubt you can translate those into approximate cycling
minutes:

The CityMapper app shows Walking / Tube / Cycle / Uber time comparisons for any
journey.

Yes, and very clever it is, too, though not always available when on a Tube
train.

I think it's interesting that the Tube is now so busy that TfL is putting
out info that encourages people to walk rather than pay a high price for a
very short journey.
