Because they wouldn't get enough users to make it worth while opening.
They are all in business areas.

I thought Cannon Street NR station had been open on Sundays since the mid
1990s.

Incidentaly, this thread wouldn't be complete without a mention of
Shoreditch, which is open for part of Sunday but closed all day Saturday.

IIRC you're thinking of Saturdays. The only time Cannon Street is open
on Sundays is when part of the line between Charing Cross and London
Bridge is closed due to trackwork being done.

No, but they are definite going to close it completely in the next few

Oh yeah, in the mid 90s the NR station was open Mon-Sat but the tube station
was open Mon-Fri. Glad they've resolved that.

Did anyone really notice/care? :-)

Incidentally, Shoreditch is only the 4th most lightly used station on
LU... outclassed by Grange Hill, Chigwell and Roding Valley.

Does anyone think that Shoreditch High Street is an adequate replacement for
Shoreditch? IMHO the two serve completely different catchments (Brick Lane
for Shoreditch, and Bishopsgate/east end of Old Street/Great Eastern Street
for Shoreditch High Street).
