Default DLR - 'Bank via Canary Wharf'

I don't think the Bank to Beckton trains are timetabled ones (I may be
wrong)
They just happen every so often for operational reasons I guess and when
there is engineering work.

I think there are one or two timetabled during the peaks.

There are some trains that run in service from Gallions Reach to Bank at
the beginning of Peak hours and from Bank to Gallions Reach at the end of
Peak Hours as they manoeuver(sp?) to/from Beckton depot. These aren't
timetable AFAIK.

The new maps show the route of the extension as being Kings George V to
Shadwell.

Bank is already at capacity, or close to capacity (or rather the
Bank/Tower Gateway junction is) with the Lewisham services I doubt they'd
be able to fit any more in there and they can't take any out as the trains
are crowded as it is.

The information I have is from DLR themselves, so I'm pretty certain
trains will run into Bank. I don't think the junction at Royal Mint St
is at capacity right now; it certainly can't handle the anticipated
increase in demand for DLR services in a few years' time, which is why
3-unit trains will be introduced.

The new maps do 'appear' to show that the airport extension will run
between King George V and Shadwell but if you look closely, you can see
that the section from Shadwell to Bank is covered over in white and
will presumably be removed once the extension is open. I would imagine
that this is to prevent passengers at stations from Poplar to Canning
Town hanging around waiting for a Bank service before the extension
opens. I think the new maps are quite helpful in showing a pattern of
service but I wonder whether the time has come to give each line a
separate identity as the network grows into a more and more complicated
beast.

Given the large number of people who would want to travel from Canary
Wharf and from the Lewisham branch to the airport, I'm disappointed
that a change at Poplar will initially be required to travel to the
airport.

Currently, the daytime 10 minute service to Stratford from Lewisham is
timed for cross platform interchange between this service and the Tower
Gateway to Beckton service. I wonder if this arrangement will continue.
It's very handy but would be even handier if the connection were made
between the Lewisham - Stratford and Bank - Airport service instead.
