Apparently the trains are to be craned out during the closure for
modification.

That's the only way they will get out of the drain.:) Andrew

Considering all the years the Drain has been running why has a ramp not
been built to get trains out to B.R. or since conversion, as it's 92
stock connect it to the nearest tube at Bank or the nearest underground
line at waterloo.

They used to have a lift but it disappeared under the Eurostar station.
Perhaps they could put it back in 2007.

There always was a way out but they built Waterloo International on
top of it.

That's the old way. What's wrong with a ramp? Or a direct
connection to a tube line at either Waterloo or bank. The rest of the
system is integrated with lines that connect when services are
suspended, what's wrong with bringing the W&C into the 21centry.

How about cost effectiveness? Think about the engineering involved in such a
project (assuming it to be technically possible) and how much it would cost
and then decide if it would be worth spending so much mony for the benefits
that would be gained.

Are you going to pay for these works?

It was somewhat limited though. There was an Armstrong lift but the
couplings and hoses had to be removed from cars to get them into it.
Craning out from the depot is probably less work.

What on earth does this mean in plain English? I can just about guess
the other ones, but this has me really puzzled.

The inverse of "mind the gap"?
