Default Jan 2 - usual cock-up on FGWL

Ex-Thames Trains aka First Great Western Link excelled themselves
today. Expecting that with the exorbitant fare rises this might have
resulted in greater customer service we went from Hayes to Paddington.
Hmm - no vdu display of trains at Hayes - the system was u/s, no train
indicators working on the platforms - the system was u/s, no
announcements by station staff as each train arrived, no indicators on
the front of the trains as to destinations, on board no announcements
made by the drivers - but the fares went up. Oh - and Family
Travelcards were discontinued, a new Travelcard for zones 1-5 was
available at £10, and all fares went up. Oyster Cards of course remain
unavailable for FGWL services. Let tourists beware. Typical of rip-off
Britain. CJB.

If you think trains are bad, you should try the buses outside London
where there is no sort of indication where the bus is, if it's even
going to show up and no staff to ask and no hotline to call. No refunds
or even a simple apology for delays.
