Default Group Day Ticket

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what tickets would best for us for travelling
around in London for four days.
We are a group of 11, most of us under 18's. I know there is a group day
ticket. Price looks quite reasonable. Do you know if we have to travel as a
group with GDT every time we use the tube or a bus?
Any suggestions what tickets to use. Zones 1-2 will do for us.

Thanks!
