Hi guys,

Just in case anyone missed it, remember the Hammersmith Flyover
closes tommorow (1st August), until I think about 18th August.

Remember:

- do not go to hammersmith

what *time* does it close? I live in Hammersmith, and think I might have to
go for one last jolly over the flyover at midnight tonight, since it will be
my last chance to actually use my car until it reopens (due to being
gridlocked in).

I think the reopening date is 22nd from the signs round here.

You won't be able to drive over it at midnight tonight; it's closed from
23:00 Thursday to 05:00 Friday. The 3-week closure begins at 21:00 Friday.
It is supposed to reopen at 05:00 Friday 22 August.

Now re-read the above post and play "spot the contradiction" :-)

I give up. It's too late for puzzles. Where's the contradiction?

D'oh. My bad. Mis-read it. Made that silly mistake of thinking Thursday
was synonymous with Friday :-)

Rather an American use of language?

It was supposed to be reminiscent (SiC?) of the episode of South Park when a
load of aliens came to South Park and kept on killing a load of cows, and
when the kids confronted the aliens (who were subtitled), found out that
they were friendly, and asked them why they killed a load of cows, the
leader replied with something like "oh, that's his fault, he's new" and then
the new alien said "Sorry. My bad."

In hindsight, quite a specific bit of a random TV programme for me to expect
anyone to remember! :-)
