Default Transport at the NLA, and a Thameslink rumour

Hot on the heels of the walking map thing, the New London Architecture
centre is now going TRANSPORT BARMY:

It's moderately interesting; worth nipping in if you're on Tottenham Court

maquettes) are he

In their thing on Thameslink, they say "A new staion would also be built
to serve the Tate Modern art gallery"; i'd never heard of this before. Any
truth to it?

In one of the various versions of Thameslink 2000, I'm sure I've seen a
plan for a new exit from the Blackfriars platforms onto the south bank
to interchange with Southwark tube (since the 12-car platforms at
Blackfriars would stretch more or less all the way across the river
anyway); perhaps that's what it's talking about.

Yeah, what I really need is emotional therapy from the evil dead.

The extended (12 car platforms) Blackfriars station will have an entrance on
the south of the river, its all in the approved Transport & Works Order.

Not so much a new station more like a new station entrance on the south
end of Blackfriars bridge allowing access to the then cross river
Blackfriars station - walk east by the river under the wobbly bridge
and there is Bankside - Home of the Tate Modern. .

I wouldn't call it an interchange with Southwark tube since it's about
500m away on-street, but there will certainly be a new southern entrance
to Blackfriars on the South Bank.

Yes, I'm misremembering (I thought Southwark tube station was closer to
Blackfriars Bridge - it's a station I've passed on the Thameslink trains
often enough, but never actually used).

Would Jane Austen have used a food processor? Did Mendelssohn have a
mole in the same place as Anita Harris? Where can you buy stair rods?
All these questions, and more, are ignored in tonight's programme.
