Any truth to it? In one of the various versions of Thameslink 2000, I'm sure I've seen a plan for a new exit from the Blackfriars platforms onto the south bank to interchange with Southwark tube (since the 12-car platforms at Blackfriars would stretch more or less all the way across the river anyway); perhaps that's what it's talking about. -- Stephen Yeah, what I really need is emotional therapy from the evil dead. |

Any truth to it? Not so much a new station more like a new station entrance on the south end of Blackfriars bridge allowing access to the then cross river Blackfriars station - walk east by the river under the wobbly bridge and there is Bankside - Home of the Tate Modern. . |

I wouldn't call it an interchange with Southwark tube since it's about 500m away on-street, but there will certainly be a new southern entrance to Blackfriars on the South Bank. -- Dave Arquati www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |

Yes, I'm misremembering (I thought Southwark tube station was closer to Blackfriars Bridge - it's a station I've passed on the Thameslink trains often enough, but never actually used). -- Stephen Would Jane Austen have used a food processor? Did Mendelssohn have a mole in the same place as Anita Harris? Where can you buy stair rods? All these questions, and more, are ignored in tonight's programme. |
