Default Oyster to Brighton?

Southern and Brighton & Hove Buses are apparently planning to
introduce Oystercards to Brighton according to this article.

http://www.theargus.co.uk/display.va...d_tr ains.php

It mentions compatibility with the TfL scheme, but I would imagine
this will be through ITSO standards..

This is probably part of the move to smart cards (ITSO) which is
gathering momentum. It will probably become mandatory when the
national free travel for pensioners comes in, in order to verify the
eligibility and cost allocation. It was discussed at the meeting with
MCL about the 2007-8 Concessionary fare scheme, which led into the
2008 onward scheme.
