Personally, I find it irritating that I get sent a glossy self-promotional magazine from the Conservative council every month when the Conservative assembly members are the first to jump on the Mayor for doing exactly the same thing... I never get a magazine from the Mayor! |

And it's not deposited at either of my local train stations. |

At mine, it goes directly from the doormat to the green box. |

I though it was a 6th monthly publication :O (or similar) Maybe the distributors daren't travel this far out? {ok, can't actually think of a *decent* reason why I get the publication so infrequently. weird.} -- Paul G Typing from Barking |

Door drops here (Ealing) are, to put it politely, intermittent. The same used to be the case for free newspapers, but now they've stopped coming altogether. -- Thoss |

Is there a website, not run by either TfL or this pressure-group, that
gives a balanced list of the pros and cons of this and other projects? Looking at everything - cost, disruption, environment, etc.? I think when the congestion zone in West London comes into force next month, people will be delighted with another zippy way to get around town that doesn't involve paying £8, and the opposition will quickly dissipate. |

Unlikely. The tram route stops just outside the extended charging zone, and it's more likely that people will just be resentful of both schemes (C-charge extension and the tram). I'm not aware of any particularly balanced websites explicitly listing pros and cons. It's probably quite difficult to do so too, as now that most of the road closures have been dropped, the main point of contention has switched to traffic modelling and whether a lot of traffic will rat run or not - the problem being that because TfL do the modelling, the opposition automatically distrusts the results if they don't say what they want them to say. -- Dave Arquati www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |
