Thameslink services link north and south, though of course don't go
anywhere near Watford.
You could change from a MidlandMainline stopping at Luton or Luton
Parkway and continue on down through Blackfriars/London Bridge.

The Thameslink trains change between the third rail power and overhead
line power at Farringdon. When they raise the pantograph to pick up the
overhead line you can see large arcs between them.


I thought your question was referring to the "North of London" Eurostar
services, which were SUPPOSED to be direct Eurostar services from places
like York(?) and Edinburgh(?), which were never implemented, and never
will be, sadly.
