I doubt it actually but I haven't checked.

SVR MAN-HRW route NOT LONDON: 59.70
SVR MAN-London Terminals route ANY PERMITTED: 59.50 (and it's even less
route CHESTERFIELD)

I was guessing, but waddya know. I was recalling another thread about
travelling from Milton Keynes and discovering that to the travelcard/
oyster boundary cost more than to Euston. I think Silverlink sets
Milton Keynes fares though?

A great pity that their procedures didn't spot your considerable
expertise, in my view.

This Cambridge resident takes a train to KX then cycles. I still have
Oyster for those inevitable accidents.

Does Oyster take both you and the bike to hospital when those occur?

keep changing at North Greenwich, which involves quite a long trip to
the gates, adding about ten minutes in each direction.

Yeah, looks really practical to me.

Oh I read the JD and just thought "that's the job for me". I genuinely
felt I could do most of it "standing on my head" while other bits would
be a genuine challenge / development area. Still I'm sure the American
(I assume she is given her education background) lady who has got the
job will do just fine.

I could make a pithy response about the selection process but I know a
fair number of colleagues read this so for once I'll keep my gob shut
about our HR department ;-)

The containers don't *all* go to the Midlands and "oop North".

I'd say most of the ones that go /by train/ do - London containers are
largely trucked in direct from Tilbury/Felixstowe, I'd assume.

A paper ODTC is great if you'll be doing a lot of traveling once in
London, but what if you'll only be taking one or two trips?

One of the great things about Oyster IMO (bar the National Rail validity
issues) - you don't need to plan your day in advance.

I've bought several 1 day bus passes in Birmingham when I've only ever
done two single trips and as a result lost out financially. Whereas with
Oyster, I wouldn't need to buy a ODTC or 1 day Bus Pass (ODBP?) in
advance, and if I didn't make more than 3 journeys I wouldn't pay for it.

Yeah, looks really practical to me.

?

"Practical" refers to why I would have a paper travelcard for everyday
use (Oyster shop in opposite direction to station etc.)

The ten-minute change is what I then have to do in order to use my
PAYG credit to go an extra zone occasionally, or else pay £4 for an
extension.

If you're wasting 10 minutes changing at a station, I suggest that
having a paper travelcard is not practical.
