Indeed. But the sentence is not only a funny but also a demonstration
that for language understanding and translation some world or
encyclopedia knowledge is needed since the reader has to know that
"fruit flies" exist but "time flies" don't.

Correcting the errors :-

|| Fruit flies like a banana."
