RAIL magazine 585 reported that Manchester's 323's are to be
transferred to Birmingham. It reported the DfT as saying Northern can expect vehicles from London Midlands Birmingham operations and from London Overground - likely to be class 150s although DfT doesn't say" I can understand the logic of unifying the 353 fleet - but more 150s from the south. Is it intended to turn off the OHLE to Glossop. In Rail 586 Northern Engineering Director Ruud Hakett said he was disappointed to see the 323s moving but added that no operator would ever be sad to see old trains being replaced by new trains. What new trains is he talking about? |

What new trains is he talking about? Presumably this is a mis-post. See uk.railway for all the answers (LIAR's wrong again - surprise, surprise; the 150s are for service growth in the North West, not for replacing the 323s). |
