Good of them to tell you about a station in Manchester, wasn't it?

Now that IS good service - letting passengers in London know that a
station in Manchester is closed ....

:)

Really must find out the train times from liverpool street

To where?

Walthamstow. twenty-past and ten-to at that time of the day. Every fifteen
minutes earlier in the day.

I wish the TFL journey planner allowed you to set up "via" or "avoid"s. At
the moment my routes are
1) walthamstow -(victoria)- oxford circus -(Central)- white city
2) If central line problems, walthamstow -(Victoria)- kings cross -(H&C)
- shepherds bush
3) If Victoria line problems walthamstow - (wagn) - liverpool street
-(central)- shepherds bush
4) If Problems on both lines walthamstow - (wagn) - liverpool street
-(h&c)- shepherds bush

If theres a problem with walthamstow station though I'd be screwed. I'm
sure theres a bus to leytonstone, or even into the center of town, but I
hate busses. Queens Road is just round the corner but its a useless
station that goes nowhere.

If you are near Queen's Road, then St James' Street is an option. Also
get the 58 (158?) down Markhouse Road and you can be at Leyton tube in
about ten mins).

Oh well here goes. I note you hate buses but they can be quite handy!

W15 or W19 from Leytonstone to Walthamstow Central from the Hainault Rd
side of Leytonstone Stn. 257 from Leytonstone High Road.

You could opt to go to Tottenham Hale if Walthamstow Central is closed
and then catch a 230 bus to Walthamstow Central or 123 along Forest
Road.

Remember that Stratford and the Jubilee Line / Docklands gives you the
158, 69 and 257 back to Walthamstow.

Also if Oxford Circus is closed just take the Picc from Holborn and then
change to the Vic at Finsbury Park.

The Picc can also be a fall back if you go to Turnpike Lane and get the
123 or 230 back to Walthamstow or if things are a complete disaster then
the 41 and W4 from Turnpike will at least get you to Tottenham Hale from
where shanks pony can take over if everything has stopped!

And finally bus 55 runs from Oxford Circus to Leyton Baker Arms - busy
but it will get you home. Also Bus 73 runs to Tottenham from where you
can get the 123 and 230 onwards to Walthamstow. The 48 runs from
Liverpool St to Walthamstow Central and if you miss one of those half
hourly WAGN trains can be an alternative to hanging around on Liv St
station concourse.

There - now you know all my alternative routes!
