It looks like more buses (although perhaps not 8,000 extra) but in
fact they're just just running shorter routes. I had to get the 29
from Trafalgar Square to Wood Green earlier on today. Got on only to
get turfed off at Finsbury Park because the bus was turning round to
go back (it did say Wood Green when it first deparated from TS).
Waited for the next one, which also said Wood Green, but only took me
as far as Turnpike Lane before turning around once more. I walked the
rest of the way.

7000 routes? blimey, no wonder the roads are so congested...
TfL claim that "up to 100 extra buses will run on key routes" - I
wasn't sure how much of a dent that would really make.
(I think they may have meant 700 usual routes:

Oof, that doesn't sound like fun. Green Lanes can get fairly congested
at the best of times, so if you need to come back later and the
Piccadilly Line is still mostly suspended, you may have a better time
with a train from Alexandra Palace to Kings Cross. (Ally Pally station
is 10 minutes walk, or you can grab the W3 or 184 along Station Road.)

Shame the London Lite apparently managed to get it so horribly wrong.
There will be 100 extra buses in service on the strike days - and
there are 'only' around 700 routes in London, as opposed to 7,000!

Conjuring up 1,000 extra buses - let alone 8,000 - would be something
of a magic trick indeed.
