I couldn't find them on the Wanstead Park machine today.

(And yes, I know there's no requirement to use OEPs when making
'extension journeys' on LO, but I'm pretty sure I read some blurb
somewhere that said all TfL outlets inc. LO ticket machines could set
and remove OEPs.)

Yes, sorry I completely overlooked the DLR - as you say the new TVMs
(the ones that look a bit like arcade machines), which are Shere
models I think, aren't currently configured to issue OEPs - otherwise
they 'do' Oyster though.

LO has a mix of Shere and S&B machines (the latter a legacy from
Silverlink), neither of which I think issue OEPs - given that the
Shere TVMs can issue them elsewhere I'm not sure why they haven't been
configured to on LO (apart from the fact that they're not needed for
LO journeys).

So not quite the comprehensive coverage on the TfL outlet front that
I'm sure I've read being claimed somewhere (though maybe it was just a
comment on here!).

I suppose I should add that Tramlink TVMs don't issue OEPs, but then
again they don't 'do' Oyster whatsoever either.

Bank or London Bridge, doesn't make any difference so long as the OEP
is on the card before the NR part of the journey. (And no, I don't
think loading an OEP onto the card mid-journey at London Bridge would
make any difference to the whole journey being treated and charged as
an LU+NR through journey.)

I assume though that at London Bridge anyone adding an OEP has to go out of
the barriers though? What about at a station like Stratford where there are
machines inside the barrier line, on the Jubilee side of the concourse. Can
one add an OEP and then use the platform readers to register it mid journey
or do they have to go out of the station?

At LB the ticket machines are all outside the barriers/ paid-for area,
yes (and like all termini stations there's no in-barrier interchange
route between LU and NR stations, apart from the arrangement at
Paddington to reach the H&C/Circle platforms).

Anyway, good question, dunno if it'd be possible - whilst I reckon it
would probably be possible to add an OEP to a card that had an open
journey, I don't think it would have any effect in terms of switching
on the 'entry charge' system when mid-journey - any touch on the
validators *within* the gated is ambiguous when a card with an open
journey is presented, and is treated as if the journey may have ended
(transfer to a paper ticket) or the journey may be continuing (so just
an interchange).

Anyway at Stratford I don't think any of the TVMs within the gated
area is capable of issuing an OEP, they're all NXEA ones aren't they,
which are S&B TVMs?

At the ungated Finsbury Park station there are both FCC Shere TVMs and
Tube TVMs that can issue OEPs, so that's one place where one could
experiment with trying to add an OEP mid-journey.

Even if the 'entry charge' was not deducted if an OEP was added mid-
journey, if the OEP flag was set then it should satisfy any RPI who
inspected the card.
