Agread, but it probably will not happen. IIRC space has been left at
Dalston Junction for this possibility.

BTW, I thought you no longer used railways at all?

The electrification of the line from Finsbury Park to Edgware comes
close to that description. I have a vague recollection that a curve in
the vicinity of Kent House was built but never used by a single train.

I think I've read of a tramway in Norway or Sweden.

Plus lots of freight-only projects....

The shenanigans surrounding the Kent House spur (which cost £11,000) is
described in complex detail in Adrian Gray's LCDR. In essence it was
designed to force the Crystal Palace & South London Junction Railway into
the arms of the LCDR in 1874, which it did.
