What was the name of this station and when did it close? Was it closed as part of the Thameslink Programme? More info hehttp://www.disused-stations.org.uk/k...nk/index.shtml I dunno if one would say it was closed as part of the Thameslink Programme - the new station at St Pancras was built as part of the CTRL works (though absurdly it wasn't fitted out at the time, with the fit-out occurring later) - however said CTRL works at St Pancras included the bored and cut-and-covered link tunnels from the Thameslink line to the Great Northern/ ECML which are part of the overall Thameslink Programme game plan. So, it's all kinda intermeshed. At one time the Kings Cross Thameslink, or Widened Lines, station had Metropolitan Line platforms. That side was closed much earlier and replaced with the 'tube' style station further to the west. |
