I've just noticed some of the expensive infrastructure that's been built
for Fastrack, in particular the three-lane viaduct over the Dartford
tunnel approach and under the QE Bridge approach. Here is a shot along
the three lane viaduct, showing that one lane is for pedestrians...

the viaduct goes over another insignificant road as well...

I suppose that the frequency could increase at some point, but by how
much? Since the main road around Iceland drops to one lane every time it
goes over a bridge, I believe this road could have done too.
